Out with the old and in with the new: our new website is live!

There will be more updates and additions to look forward to over the next few weeks.

We hope you’ve all enjoyed the Christmas and New Year break and are now itching to get back into training (the instructors certainly are!). Thankfully the wait is almost over; all clubs will be back in action from the week beginning Sunday 6th January.

Support the World Karate Federation’s bid to get karate added to the Olympic Games in 2020. Voting will take place during the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires on the 7th September 2013, so now is the time for everyone to back the karate bid.

The K is on the Way

Also shortlisted for consideration by the IOC Executive Board are: baseball, roller sports, softball, sports climbing, squash, wakeboard and wushu but none of them will be successful unless one or more of the existing sports at Rio 2016 is removed. The summer programme can include a maximum of 28 sports, which was reached with the inclusion of rugby and golf at the 121st Session in Copenhagen in 2009 (a vote in which karate narrowly missed out).

You can follow all of the latest promotional activity on the Facebook page for The K is on the Way, such as “the K day” taking place in cities all over the world on 7th October 2012; Carmarthenshire Karate will be getting involved by taking part in the British International Open in Glasgow.
